Job Purpose

We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Control Inspector at our site in Buckie.

This role will ensure that all inspection, testing and documentation of our products are completed accurately, and that all material dispatched from the company meets the required specifications.

Responsibilities

- To ensure safety regulations are met in workplace and that all welding activities are carried out in accordance with applicable Standard/Code/Welding Procedure Specification (WPS).
- Carry out all typical duties of a welding inspector before, during and after welding, including checking materials, welder qualifications, weld identification, weld dimensions and appearance.
- Liase with QC/QA/ Works Managers/ Engineering to ensure all QC welding inspection and NDT requirements are met.
- Arrange sub-contractor NDT requirements.
- Check reports are factually correct on receipt.
- Carry out dimensional inspections of fabrications pre and post welding to ensure dimensional accuracy is maintained.
- Generate/complete all supporting documentation as required, including SMT/PMT/MIS traceability datasheets dimensional red line drawings, dimensional inspection certificate, and visual inspection certificates.

Person Specification

- Have experience in fabrication/welding of pressure vessels, pipework and structural steel.
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Be able to multi-task, and have excellent time management skills.

Qualifications

Be C.S.W.I.P WI 3.1 qualified.
Hold a Radiographic Interpretation Qualification.
Hold PCN/ASNT Level 2 NDE qualifications.
