Job Purpose
The successful candidate will look after fabrication projects for a variety of industries (Energy Sector and Oil &Gas) based at our Dyce site in Aberdeen, these will include large fabrications of skid units, pipework and structural steelwork as well as smaller quick turn around projects.
Responsibilities
• Supports delivery of engineering excellence in their assigned project(s) through coordinating and delivering the engineering for an assigned project scope to schedule and in accordance with applicable procedures, specifications and standards.
• Coordinates a series of activities performed by client engineers, designers and others from multiple engineering disciplines to support the timely issuing of engineering deliverables to meet project specifications.
• Ensures engineering disciplines comply with all applicable quality and HSE requirements in preparation of deliverables
• Weekly schedule preparation, planning and resource forecasting for engineering activities relating to the project
• Ensures accurate and timely delivery of work and resolves minor delays and change to the satisfaction of both internal and external customers.
• Alerts Operations Manager in the event of major delays or change; revises scope and supports implementation of approved changes.
• Coordinates and assures technical excellence of project deliverables, Prepares project plans and multi-discipline documents such as basis of design, subcontract scopes of work.
Qualifications
College/University Qualification in Mechanical Engineering preferred, There will be opportunities for continued professional development within this role.
Previous experience in this line of engineering work and/or experience of working in oil and gas or the energy sector would be beneficial.
Ability to read, interpret and edit technical drawings, good communications skills.
